SAFETY
The Company is committed to operating within all statutory and legal parameters applicable to the Construction Industry and any specific requirements set down by its clients. To this end, the company has appointed inhouse safety specialists to oversee, in co-operation with our Contracts Director, Johan Klaasen and his contracting team, all aspects relating to safety in the construction process such as inductions, training, monitoring and auditing its construction sites, offices, workshops and builder’s yard.

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
Our Contracts Director, Johan Klaasen, with the assistance of his Contracts Managers, controls and ensures that all sites are properly structured and, together with on-site Site Agents, General Foremen, staff and subcontractors, ensures that all work is carried out efficiently, safely and to agreed standards of execution. Programming with an inhouse programmer/ planner is monitored using CCS construction software and strict controls implemented to ensure completion within agreed time spans.

QUANTITY SURVEYING, ESTIMATING & PURCHASING
Vernon van Wyk, our Commercial Director/Chief Quantity Surveyor, with the assistance of Denis Robert and their team, handle all aspects of negotiations, tenders, feasibilities, contract cost control and final accounts. A comprehensive costing system developed in-house by the Company assists in monitoring all financial aspects pertaining to each contract. Our Buyer ensures that cost effective and timeous purchase orders are placed with reliable suppliers and sub-contractors and further more ensure our Clients derive the full benefit of quality materials in their projects.

PLANT & TRANSPORT DIVISION
Our Plant and Transport Manager controls all transport requirements and the plant needs of the sites, including regular maintenance, the upgrading of constuction equipment, plant and vehicles.

FINANCIAL
Our Financial Manager handles all aspects of the Company finances ensuring that regular financial reports are prepared and that the Company complies with all statutory accounting practices. Our financial year-end is September and audited financial statements are presented before calendar year-end to enable the finalisation of insentive scheme payouts and bonuses.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT

Our Human Resources Manager is responsible for the maintenance and operation of our wage and labour-only sub-contractor payroll systems. She also handles all aspects pertaining to staff welfare, including Workmen Compensation claims, Unemployment Insurance Fund issues and the capturing of safety apparel and overalls issued to site staff, as well as all liaison with the Master Builder’s Association pertaining to employee benefits such as holiday pay, Provident Fund, Medical Insurance, etc.

COST MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGIC PLANNING DEPARTMENT

Our dedicated Cost Management Accountant and Strategic Planner is responsible for the production of detailed monthly contract costing reports as well as the preparation of turnover forecasts, projected monthly income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements. She is responsible for monitoring actual performance achieved against the forecasts and for producing a schedule highlighting any variances which is used by Management for the control of the Company.

ADMINISTRATION
Our Administrative staff complement performs switchboard duties, clerical work, all secretarial functions and all other administrative tasks.

COMPANY CAPABILITIES
The core of the Giuricich Coastal Projects Team has operated together since 1982. Through the qualifications and vast experience of its directors, shareholders and employees the company provides, in house, the full scope of professional constuction services, including project and contract management, quantity surveying, estimating, and project feasibility studies. On our development side we are able to source suitable land and provide a full one stop turnkey service. The company has specialised expertise in the development, project management and construction of cold stores and in many instances are appointed by clients to lead the process and provide a one stop service.

GCP - 25 Years and Counting - A CELEBRATION

In 1982 the GCP team was established in KwaZulu Natal with one contract in hand, that of the new Parts Division for Mercedes Benz in Pinetown, which in today’s terms would have a contract value of R250 million. This one contract provided a dream startup and the forerunner to Giuricich Coastal Projects as the company is known today.
